New Series On Parables

For those of us who have attended church most of our life, we know the parables. We know how the story goes, how it ends and how the story typically is interpreted. For the listener, usually sermons on them are pretty predictable at least up to now. 

What if our past interpretations of the parables are not the only way of interpreting them? What if Jesus was much more subversive than we think? 

Join us over the summer as we revisit our favorite parables and tell the story in a much different way.

Go Green at the Church and at our homes

The mission committee and Pastor Jan are calling upon you to help us become sound stewards of the earth and to lead environmentally friendly lifestyles that benefit both the present and future generations. 

Throughout this summer we will be making suggestions and providing ways to improve our stewardship.

Weekday Bible Study 

Wednesday mornings at 10:30am in the clubhouse in the Silver Springs community. Our first book will be on the Old Testament Prophets. If you are interested in joining our group, please let the office know so that we can order a book for you. Pastor Jan

Pastor Jan will be leading a Lands of the Bible Cruise on October 25, 2013 and  invites everyone to join her. We will fly to Rome and transfer to the beautiful Norwegian Jade. We will visit Alanya, Turkey and Limassol, Cyprus to see where Paul preached. We will travel inland to the Sea of Galilee, Jordan River, and onward to Jerusalem. We will cruise to Cairo, Egypt and visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and on to Alexandria to see the catacombs. Finally we will set sail back to Rome. All of this is available to you as we journey together on this “pilgrimage of a lifetime.” All inclusive pricing starts at $3450 with airfare to New York included and an inside cabin. Other cabin choices are available for an additional cost. Join the Pastor on this fascinating and rewarding trip of faith. If you have questions, please talk with Pastor Jan.
